"Fast Five" Races Off To Big Box Office Win


Well it sure looks like the fifth time is the charm for the "Fast and Furious" franchise as the latest instalment "Fast Five" easily outpaced to competition to cruise into a massive box office win on its way to having the biggest opening so far this year with an $83.6 million haul.

The Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson actioner more than doubled the previous record opening of $39.2 million for "Rio" - which placed second this week with another $14.4 million.

In third was "Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family" earning $10.1 million followed by the Reese Witherspoon and R-Pattz effort "Water for Elephants" with $9.1 million and finally in fifth was "Prom" which brought in $5 million.
