Well the hyper-texting teeny-boppers who control "American Idol" season 10 have had their say - and the next talented singer performer who got the boot in favor of lesser lights was (drum roll please) crazy quirky cool Paul McDonald - whose ouster at least finally ended the slaughter of the ladies. Yeah, since the top 13 it was girls only hitting the bricks. But no more!

Granted Paul didn't have his best night as he was over-whelmed by the Bob Seger song he chose, but still. He's better than others who remain. Like, oh, we don't know, how about Jacob "Humble" Lusk, or Stefano "Lounge Singer" Langone? Well at least Stefano was in the bottom three, along with Haley Reinhart who had totally blown it with a bad "Call Me" cover.

Anyways, it was sad to see Paul go. He is an original and a really nice guy... though we doubt his commercial appeal post-Idol. Much like Casey Abrams (SEE: Casey SAVED) who is now living in the same bubble that gave us Idol winner and "Soul Patrol" drunken uncle Taylor Hicks. Anyone remember him? No? Our point exactly.
